John Witmer, MSW, LCSW-C

John is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 36 years of experience providing clinical services to individual, groups, and families.  He has provided treatment to individuals from youth to advanced aged adults in outpatient, psychiatric hospitals, educational settings, and hospice/chronic care units. 

John starts treatment by building a personal connection to help the individual meet their unique therapy goals.  He is passionate about empowering the client to understand the treatment process while providing therapeutic techniques and strategies to use throughout the treatment process and beyond.  Education and teaching clients about managing life challenges has been his professional goal.

John blends components of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Multi-Systemic Therapy and other Person-Centered Approaches.  These approaches emphasize personal growth, free will, and client self-actualization.  

John graduated from West Virgina University with both a Bachelors and Masters  degree in Social Work.  He was  recognized as one of the top MST clinicians in the country based on outcomes data and client satisfaction.  John also has extensive experience providing treatment in the areas of behavior disorders, anger management, and trauma informed treatment.
