Gennaro “Jerry” Marenga, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Gennaro “Jerry” is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner in Maryland. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Harry S. Truman, and has been stationed in places such as Norfolk Naval Air station, and Naval Air Station Pensacola.

After the Navy, he completed his Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Drexel University and his Masters degree at The University of Pennsylvania, both in Philadelphia, PA. After completing his board certification, Jerry enrolled in an one-year residency program with the Center for Family Guidance in New Jersey, to obtain further training treating psychiatric illness with a strong focus on mood disorders and the bipolar spectrum.

Jerry started his nursing career in the emergency room, before transitioning to psychiatry, where he worked inpatient psychiatry at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Pennsylvania Hospital. He has spent the last five years serving patients in the hospital setting, including geriatric psychiatry patients at Northbrook Hospital in NJ, and adults at Northwest Hospital outside of Baltimore, and most recently at Frederick Health Hospital working with adults, as well as psychiatric consultations on the medical units for patients with serious co-occurring medical and psychiatric illness. Additionally, he has experience providing care in the emergency room for those experiencing psychiatric crises.
