Veronica “Roni” Stocks, LMSW

Veronica “Roni” is a Licensed Master Social Worker with experience across a variety of treatment settings including, inpatient psychiatric and veteran hospitals, crisis invention centers, and domestic violence safe houses.

Roni was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force and loves working with military and civilian communities. She believes her life as a military “brat”, veteran, and now, a civilian contributes to a broader view of cultural diversity. Roni enjoys helping clients overcome challenges to begin the journey toward healing. She believes the first step is to create a judgement-free, “virtual safe space” to encourage self-exploration and growth. Roni sees therapy as a partnership between client and therapist that cannot be performed with a “one-size-fits-all” approach. She believes each client is unique, so what works for one person may not work for another.

Roni utilizes a blend of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Psychoeducation, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Strengths-Based Therapy. Her experience with adults includes anxiety, bipolar, crisis intervention, depression, domestic violence, military/veterans, and multicultural counseling.

Roni received her Bachelor of Social Work from University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and her Masters of Social Work from Morgan State University.
